"Love as a Choice" by London Izzett

"Love as a Choice" by London Izzett

To me, love isn’t just a feeling. Love is a choice; an everyday decision that gives someone security, compassion, affection, and a shoulder to lean on. I love my family, my friends, and the people that support me, not because they write me cards or buy me expensive gifts. I love them because they choose to show up for me, and to be there. Love is trust and stability, something someone shouldn’t have to worry about. Everyone sees love in different things and in different ways, but love is like a binding contract to me. It gives me a feeling of safety, and warmth in my mind that I know I can always speak to someone that I love about something close to my heart. Love is what drives me in life more than anything, because if I’m not surrounded by people I love, doing the things I love, then how can I be happy? I feel motivated everyday because I have love in my life. What and who you love, to me, are the most important decisions you can make in your life, because it ultimately decides what you do with your life, and who you live it with. Lastly, love is calm and patient. It’s always there, it’s just up to you to go out and find it, and then hold onto it once you get it, because you don’t want to ever lose it. I love my family and my friends that have helped me get to where I am, and I always will, because I know they’ll always be there, and afterall, love is all I need to be happy for the rest of my life.
